day 21 of 50 The Regal upon Rage

Jacqueline: it's shocking how easily
it all came apart

Amichai: And just like that, a friendship ended. Shocking, really, and not quite clear yet, but somehow, one gesture topples the delicate relationship of trust and caring and, like this fractured pinecone, a heart is broken.

Can amends be made? Perhaps, not always. These are also broken pieces we carry along on our journey, this and others, on our way to being better, and more whole.

Night 21, as the Sabbath Queen arrives in a windy New York City, scarves are on, the summer styles, protecting from the chill of the inevitable. Malchut of Tiferet - the nobility of compassion, the regal composure with which, one hopes, we rise to the occasion of more painful moments. Watch the Sabbath Queens light the Sabbath candles and with grace blow out the match and thank the week that was and welcome in the temporary haven from all worries and to do lists, into here and now.
